TEMPORARY INFORMATION SIGNS

Building directories, menus, and all other signs that provide temporary information about rooms and spaces, such as current occupant's name, are not required to comply with ADA guidelines.

EXTERIOR SIGNS

The requirements for exterior and interior signs are generally the same. Exterior signs are not required to have tactile text and Braille, other than in the situation where a permanent room, such as a restroom, is directly accessed from the outside. However, they must meet requirements for visual characters.
