Separate Visual and
Tactile Sign


• 1/8" matte white acrylic backer panel
• 1/8" non-glare clear acrylic, with digital graphic
applied 2nd surface
• 1/8" matte white acrylic top and bottom border
• White tactile lettering
• White Raster Braille dots

Combination 2-part visual / tactile signs allow for greater flexibility regarding the use of type fonts for the visible portion, but require more surface area for repeating the visual information in a tactile form.


• The raised character height (tactile characters) is permitted to be 1/2 inch (13 mm) minimum.

• Tactile characters are not required to contrast with the background.

• Visual only characters can be uppercase or lowercase or a combination of both.

• Type style can be serif or sans serif. However, they may not be italic, oblique, script, or highly decorative in form.
